Aside from sugar and butter, I think there isn’t a more perfect combination of flavors than the BLT. It is just magic when you mix bacon and tomatoes with mayonnaise. And then add the crunch of lettuce . . . all on a fresh croissant or toasted bread? Good grief!! So delicious. We make BLTs like mad this time of year because of all the fresh garden tomatoes. And who doesn’t love it when the kitchen smells like bacon? That’s just happiness right there. So, throw your worries aside. Cook up some bacon. Put together a BLT and party like there is no tomorrow.


For each sandwich:

1 croissant, sliced in half, or 2 slices bread, toasted

2 T mayonnaise

3 slices bacon, cooked

2 pieces iceberg lettuce, washed and chilled

2 slices garden fresh tomato, chilled


Assemble sandwich by spreading mayonnaise on both sides of croissant or bread. Top one with bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Top with remaining croissant half or bread slice.

    Carol, I had my first BLT at your house when I came to visit when I was like, 11. I remember thinking it was the most delicious thing ever! I can’t wait to make these again!

      Good memory, Jane! I’m impressed. We always love when you visit. You were so cute with our little kids back then, and now I’ve got kids as old as you were that play with Ryan. Funny how that works, huh? Oh, and I know! Aren’t BLTs the best??

    We just had BLT’s last week and didn’t ever think of croissants! Next time, for sure :)–great idea.
