Ok, now that we know how to make perfect chocolate ganache frosting and cupcakes from a mix that taste homemade, let’s try them together. I used a chocolate fudge cake mix from, who else, Betty Crocker and the ganache frosting and let me just say . . . absolutely divine. Fudgy. Rich. Delicious.
1 box chocolate fudge Betty Crocker cake mix
½ cup butter, melted (not margarine)
1 c water
Mix cake mix, eggs, butter and water. Beat on low speed until incorporated, 30 seconds or so. Beat on high speed for 1 minute. Fill cupcake tins (greased or lined with cupcake papers) 2/3 full with batter. Bake at 350°F for 13-15 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Remove from cupcake tin. Cool completely. Frost with chocolate ganache frosting.
