Club Sandwich

I tell ya folks, there is really nothing quite like the taste of a good club sandwich. The way the mayo combines with the juices of the tomato . . . the way the cold crisp lettuce contrasts with the soft bread and meats . . . the bacon flavor right in the middle of it all! And the trick to getting it just right? Toast the bread. And get a fairly equal ratio of ingredients. That’s it. (Yeah, I’m into ratios lately. You might even call me a math junkie. Haha!)

For each sandwich:

2 slices fresh bread

1-2 T mayonnaise

3 thin slices oven roasted deli turkey

3 thin slices deli honey ham

2 slices bacon, cooked crisp

1/4 c iceberg lettuce, shredded

2 tomato slices

Toast bread. Cut off crusts, if desired. Spread mayonnaise on each slice. Layer turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce and tomato on one slice. Top with the other. Secure with toothpicks. Slice on the diagonal. At this point your mouth will be watering . . . so dig right in and satisfy that club sandwich craving!
