Green beans are my favorite bean (unless the cocoa bean counts!), yet even if you’re not a huge green bean fan, you’ll love this recipe because the entire thing tastes like bacon. It’s like the bacon is the main attraction and the green beans are the sidekick. The supporting cast. The “goofy best friend”. The understudy even. Bacon is the star of this production! I know my motto is “butter makes everything better” but I will have to admit, bacon does too. Oh, and this makes a great side dish for roast or ham. Haha! Ham. Served with a side of bacon. Hmm. Is that like serving eggs with chicken? Or steak with hamburgers? Well, at least you can’t argue that they don’t go together. LOL!!
2 cans French-cut green beans
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/4 t salt
8 slices bacon
Strain green beans. Pour into saucepan or slow cooker. Stir in cream of chicken soup and salt. Warm on low heat for 20 minutes (for saucepan) or at least 1 hour (for slow cooker). Meanwhile, cook bacon until crisp (see bacon tips). Crumble bacon and stir into warmed beans. Serve immediately.
