Whenever I eat munchies, I think of my grandma. They are her go-to party food, and I can see why. They are made with a meaty/cheesy filling spooned into hollowed-out soft potato rolls. And they have a lid! It’s like a gift that you get to unwrap. Or a treasure chest. A treasure chest containing a saucy cheesy treasure of melty goodness! (And if you want an extra amazing touch: butter the underneath side of the “lid.”) And afterward, serve cookies or ice cream treats for dessert, just as my grandma does. Yeah, my grandma really knows how to party!!
1 lb. ground beef
salt and pepper
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 1/2 c grated cheddar cheese
1 dozen potato rolls
Brown beef in skillet over medium/low heat. Salt and pepper. Stir in cream of chicken soup and 1/3 c water. Simmer 10 minutes. Stir in cheese. Remove from heat.
Slice “tops” off rolls. Hollow out centers. Fill with meat mixture. Serve warm. Wrap leftovers in tin foil and warm in 350 oven for 15-20 minutes.
