French Onion Rice

Here’s a family favorite that goes great with chicken dishes. It is easy and so flavorful. And you can make it, stick it in the oven, and go live your life. For a whole hour. You could watch almost three sit-coms in that amount of time. Not that you’d do that with your precious hour. I would. I’d return to the kitchen laughing and happy. Sit-coms will do that to ya. I mean, have you ever heard Patrick Warburton deliver a line in “Rules of Engagement?” He’s brilliant. Hilarious. Cracks me up every time. But I digress. This is about rice . . . .

1 c uncooked rice

1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted

1 can French onion soup

1 can beef consommé soup

Mix butter or margarine and rice in 9 x 9 dish. Pour soups over rice. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Yep, it’s that easy!
