Chili Dogs

A hot dog is a great snack, something to tide you over until dinner. Something to keep you going while at the ballgame. But a chili dog? Now that’s a meal. It’s hearty. Filling. And the blend of flavors is incredible. The chili flavors the hot dog perfectly. And the cheese then melts it all together. And the perfect crunch of onion on top adds the right amount of flavor and texture. I know, I talk about food like it’s an exciting adventure. Or my lover. Or a fond memory. Well, maybe it just is. I have been known to have entire conversations about food. Usually over lunch with friends. Haha! Try the chili dog. You won’t be disappointed.
For each serving:
1 t butter
1 beef hot dog
¼ c warm chili
2 T shredded cheddar cheese
1 T chopped onion
1 fresh hot dog bun
1 T mayonnaise
1 t ketchup
¼ t mustard
Heat butter in skillet over medium heat. Cook hot dog in butter, turning every few minutes, until cooked through, about 6-8 minutes total. Spread mayonnaise on bun. Dot with ketchup and mustard. Top with hot dog, chili, cheese, and onion. Devour.
