Fried Tortilla Strips

Fried tortilla strips are a great way to add flavor and substance to soup. They fry up quickly and are golden tasty good! Or, they make an incredible edible game of pick-up sticks!
4 flour tortillas
1-2 cups vegetable oil
Heat oil in skillet over medium heat until hot, approximately 10 minutes. Cut tortillas into 3/8-inch strips. Fry strips, one handful at a time, for a few minutes until golden. Remove with tongs. Drain on paper towels. Serve on taco soup, chicken enchilada soup, tortilla soup, taco salad, etc.
