Magic Cookie Bars

I recently heard the band Chicago announced as “classic” or in other words … they have stayed cool for a very long time. These magic cookie bars are classic too. I learned about them in high school and have been making them ever since. You can make them your own, just like the American Idol judges urge contestants to do with their songs, and use a variety of chocolate chips or candy for toppings.
½ c butter
1½ c graham cracker crumbs
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/3 c flaked coconut
1 c chopped nuts
2 c M&M’s or chocolate chips
Grease 9×13 baking pan. Melt butter and mix with graham cracker crumbs. Press into pan. Pour sweetened condensed milk over crumbs. Top with remaining ingredients; press down firmly. Bake at 350°F for 18-24 minutes or until edges are golden. Cool. Cut into bars. Store in airtight container.
