Golden Grahams S’Mores

You know something is good when you’ve been making it for 30 years. These s’mores have definitely stood the test of time. Just like Tad Hamilton’s films, at least according to Rosalee. (“Win a Date with Tad Hamilton” is really one of my favorite movies. It is the perfect chick flick because it has humor. And heart.) So, now you have your next movie night planned: “Win a Date with Tad Hamilton” and Golden Grahams S’Mores. We are a full-service site, folks!! Haha!

¾ c light corn syrup

3 T margarine/butter

1 pkg. (11.5 oz.) milk chocolate chips

½ t vanilla

1 pkg. (12 oz.) or 9 cups Golden Grahams cereal

3 c mini marshmallows

Combine syrup, butter and chocolate chips in saucepan. Heat over medium/low heat, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Toss with cereal in large bowl. Fold in marshmallows. Scoop into buttered 9 x 13 pan. (Some smash it down. I do not.) Let set 1 hour. Cut into squares and serve.

“Stands the test of time” . . . I love it! Yikes-a-bee, these are yummy treats 😉 my family loves em, thanks for reminding me. Thinking I’ll eat some with my hot cocoa mix and have choco-dreams tonight . . .

Family favorite, and this is the version we like! There\’s another one out there not quite so soft and chewy. Thanks for posting the great version for future reference 😉

I’m right there with ya, Amy! The newer version isn’t as good. Just like the newer version of rice krispies treats. What gives? Thank goodness we have these original recipes, huh? Makes me understand the meaning of “oldies but goodies” more than ever…. It’s nice to hear you feel the same. There’s something great about validation!
