Strawberry Limeade

The fresh lime is what gives this drink that “star quality” . . . something very great indeed! It’s got fantastic flavor. It’s refreshing. Sweet. Magical.

1½ c frozen sliced strawberries with sugar, thawed

½ c fresh lime juice

¼ c sugar

2 c cold water

½ c crushed ice

Stir strawberries, lime juice, sugar, water and ice together in pitcher until sugar is dissolved. OR place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. Serve cold or store in refrigerator until ready to serve.

  1. Terri @ that's some good cookin' says:

“I am happy today for the limeade, with the strawberries so red…” (Obviously sung to the tune of that Primary song “I am happy today for the sunshine, for the skies of grey are blue…”.) I have had a serious strawberry craving lately. I bought a yogurt parfait today at the hospital and it had a pile of sliced strawberries on top–I wanted to go back down to the cafeteria and buy another one, just for the strawberries. Anyway, I know that this has to be delicious and I love that you can make it any time of year because of the frozen strawberries. Smart girl!

Oh I know, don’t you love strawberry season? Do you grow them?? I do have to admit that I love the frozen strawberries not only because of the year-round benefit but because of the added sugar. I’m a fan of the granulated white stuff. I recently tried it on cold cereal. Why have I not done that before??? :) I love your song . . . brilliant replacement of lyrics. Clever girl!
